Ok, I'm confused. Really confused, and of course the media doesn't give any of the most important details describing INTENT on this guy's part.

First of all, did this hotel have a no firearms policy? Hotels are private institutions and can ban guns if they want, but that information hasn't been made available. If they don't, then gun rights defer to state law, and this is Texas, for fucks sake.

Second, the guy was drunk. He was at the bar and refused to leave, so they escorted him off the premises. Who gives a shit, right? There were no terroristic threats made, no details of any planned attack, nothing like that. They retrieve his belongings from his room and find a very basic arsenal - a rifle, a pistol and a shotgun. Let me put on my fucking boots so I can shake in them; nothing out of the ordinary.

Done, that's the end of the story. A drunk guy in a hotel that had a couple guns. No other information, yet this story is trending on Facebook and he's being treated like a terrorist. WTF, mate?

Looks like I'll be avoiding the Hyatt.

Link to fireams policy (https://houston.regency.hyatt.com/en/hotel/our-hotel/firearms-policy.html)

This is probably why they charged the guy with "trespassing" and "illegal carry of a firearm". However, I seem to recall that for the relevant statutes to take effect, businesses not wanting evil politically incorrect bang sticks on their property had to prominently display a standardized sign to that effect in Texas. I hope the guy has a good lawyer.

As far as his "arsenal" goes..

:rofl

Give me a break, the guy is NOT a terrorist, and there is NO evidence currently made public that he had any intent to harm anyone. He's just an idiot who got drunk while in possession of guns -- always a bad idea.
