The Colorado Democratic Party is proud to honor the historic contributions from the former first family by naming our dinner the Obama Dinner. In 2008, Colorado had the privilege of hosting the Democratic National Convention where Barack Obama won our party’s nomination and subsequent election as the 44th President of the United States of America. Since that time, both Michelle and Barack Obama have played a pivotal role in advancing our nation forward. Under President Obama’s leadership, we pulled our nation out of the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression and started the longest period of private sector job growth in American history.

Under the HNIC's socialism, we saw eight years of a stagnant economy, with not a single year of at least 3% growth for the first time since World War II. We saw an almost doubling of food stamp recipients, and also the money spent on welfare. We were told to spread our wealth, while the HNIC made millions we can't begin to count. We saw niggers get unprecedented arrogance to loot and burn cities. We saw an Executive Branch's Gestapo tactics from the Gibson company raid to the Bundy family, a corrupt FBI letting criminals go before the investigation even started, and an EPA out of control. We were told lie after lie by the worst, most evil president we ever had, with news feeding us propaganda. We were simultaneously betrayed from the Iran deal to letting Russians gain control of 20% of U.S. uranium. We even saw the Cuban people betrayed, when lifting the embargo helped only the government.
